linguaArbor is local-first: it works without an account, and almost all of your data stays on your device. The only data that leaves your device is for non-personalized ads (free version), Apple speech recognition (speaking exercises), and the Apple App Store purchase flow.

Data Stored on Your Device

Your learning progress, practice statistics, gamification data (XP, "leaves"/energy, gems, streaks, achievements) and app settings are stored locally on your device using standard system storage (UserDefaults). This data is not transmitted to us. Because it lives only on your device, deleting the app removes it, and we have no copy.

No Account

linguaArbor has no sign-in and no accounts. You never give us your name, email, or any other personal identifier to use the app.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows ads delivered by Google AdMob, which shares standard technical information (device type, OS version, coarse region/language, IP address) with Google to serve them. We request non-personalized ads only (the request carries the npa=1 flag) and set the tag-for-under-age-of-consent flag. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and therefore show no App Tracking Transparency prompt; measurement uses Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork. Premium subscribers see no ads. Speech Recognition

Optional speaking and shadowing exercises use your microphone together with Apple's built-in Speech Recognition, only after you grant the microphone and speech permissions. Depending on your device and language, Apple may process the audio on its servers to return a transcription. We do not store your recordings and send your voice to no party other than Apple's speech service. You can revoke access anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. On-Device Audio

Word and sentence pronunciation is generated on your device using Apple's built-in voice synthesis. No audio files are downloaded from us, and this involves no personal data.

Subscriptions & Purchases

The optional Premium subscription (removes ads and grants unlimited energy) is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see your payment details and only learn, on-device, whether an active entitlement exists. Billing, renewals and refunds are handled by Apple.

Analytics & Tracking

The app contains no third-party analytics, no Firebase, no Crashlytics and no tracking SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites.

Cloud Sync

linguaArbor does not sync your data. Your progress is stored locally on each device, does not transfer between devices, and is removed if you delete the app.

Children's Privacy

The app is suitable for general audiences, including younger learners. We request only non-personalized ads, set the under-age-of-consent flag, and require no personal information to use the app.

Your Rights (GDPR / EEA, UK and similar laws)

Because we hold no personal data about you on our own systems, there is typically no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf — your data is on your device. For data processed by Google (ads) or Apple (speech, purchases), those companies act as independent controllers. To ask a question, contact support@phivolt.com.

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
